Learn How To Protect Yourself & Your Loved Ones

"Women must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself.
- Susan B. Anthony, July 1871

Whether you are a female interested in studying Traditional Mauy Thai, or wish to increase your own personal security, we provide self-defense training designed to help meet the safety needs that each female student requires.

Differences between men and women.

"Ask a man you know, "When is the last time you were concerned or afraid that another person would harm you?" Many man cannot recall an incident within years. Ask a woman the same question and most will give you a recent example or say, "Last night," "Today," or even "'Everyday."

Our traditional Mauy Thai is a perfect Martial Art for Women's' use. In the hands of a practiced female, even the simplest Mauy Thai technique can be capable of diffusing the most powerful opponent. Women are able to apply Mauy Thai by using very little natural strength. These qualities combine to make Mauy Thai a form of self-defense without equal.

Women's Self-Empowerment

The most important thing about women's self defense classes
is the information that is taught.
It can be more harm than good
if you are not taught properly about self defense.

Don't get an inflated ego just because you took a couple of Tae Bo classes at the gym. This can do much more harm than good by providing you with a false sense of security. It is important to walk with confidence but never be over confident.

A good self defense class will teach you how to prevent from getting yourself into bad situations like never walk alone in the dark. Have someone escort you to your car when you get off work. Park you car in well lit areas. Be smart and always be prepared for the worst.

Knowing the proper information is a key element in self defense. Statistical information is vital to your safety. Many women aren't aware of how common date rape is and never expect it to happen to them.

A good self defense class will focus on techniques such as finger jabs to the eyes, palm heel strikes to the face, biting, and groin grabs. These will be practiced on an attacker in a padded uniform.

Strategies and proper use of practical non lethal self defense weapons such as high heel shoes,Nails and even an eye pencil is important. With the proper training these items will be very effective .

Mental training should be largely focused on also. It is important to know how to carry yourself, and to know what to say and how to say it in the event of a confrontation. Many times a situation can be prevented and even avoided just by your posture. Predators attack the weak. It is necessary to learn how to analyze your surroundings any where you are. By constantly knowing where you are and what is going on around you, you can better estimate potentially dangerous situations before you walk right into one. Learn how to create a safety perimeter for your home. We all feel the safest in our homes, so it is important to know what steps to take in order to keep your home from being a target of a crime.

How to Market a Deadly Disease - Shocking AIDS Ads from Around the World part 2

I bet you haven’t seen this many dickheads all in one place, ever! Anyway. These AIDS prevention ads (”Just protect yourself”) recently won a bronze medal at the Cannes Lions 2008, an international advertising festival. The style and quality of the illustrations are wonderful. I wonder if people find these very “French”? Advertising Agency: TBWA\PARIS
Country: FRANCE
Executive Creative Director: Erik Vervroegen
Creative Director: Erik Vervroegen/Michel De Lauw

It is your sex life. Not a crash test!

Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) not forgive anyone! Fight AIDS! USE CONDOMS!
Advertising Agency: D’arcy Athens, Greece / Copywriter: Lefteris Maggos and Art Director: Bill கநேல்லோபௌலோஸ்

Whenever you try to fight the AIDS you will need to be really creative, so the people will become aware of the danger. The truth is that the one who designed these Posters was very controversial. I think everybody get the message.

How to Market a Deadly Disease - Shocking AIDS Ads from Around the World part 1

It appears that some of the most creative and inventive advertising is coming from nonprofits these days.

This week, I've been taking a look at the nonprofits and "for a good cause" marketing techniques. Earlier this week, we looked at the Anti-Smoking Campaigns. and Saving Our Environment Campaigns . Today, we turn to the the advertising campaigns being used to increase awareness about AIDS.

AIDS is a frightening and devastating illness that effects thousands of people every day and in every country around the world. In order to increase awareness about this destructive disease, many different ad campaigns have been used to try to inform and perhaps even scare the public about AIDS.

How would you promote awareness about a deadly sexually transmitted disease? Here are 10 that I think are the most interesting and effective:

1. Scorpion Ads (France)

The following series of print ads on AIDS by TBWA Paris called the Scorpion Ads ran throughout France.

2. Aids Makes Us Equal (France)

Part of the French ad series, is this Wonder Woman with Aids ad.

3. Diagnosis: Nothing is Perverse (Germany)

This print ad which I call the diagnosis series is from Germany. This ad says:

Diagnosis: Nothing is perverse, except not using a condom. Note: By the year 2010, world-wide 150 million people will be infected by HIV. Treatment: Get informed. Finding out can protect against infection.

4. Diagnosis: Life or Death (Germany)

This print ad demands your attention by the Jung von Matt Agency from Germany reads:

Diagnosis: Life or death depends on only 0.003mm of latex. Note: Yearly 3 million humans die world-wide because of the consequences of AIDS. Treatment: Get informed. Finding out can protect against infection.

5. Hamburg Kids AIDS Installation (Germany)

This was a campaign for AJS, a non-profit organization that help kids in Hamburg, Germany that somehow are affected by HIV. The goal was to create general awareness, gain media coverage, drive Hamburgers to donate at least €25,000, all on a budget of $0...yup, ZERO DOLLARS!

They put up 114 little statues in Hamburg's main square, representing the number of kids in Hamburg affected by HIV, each with a quote of a child.

"Dad says" If Mark finds our our little secret, he'll never play with me again".

Mom has to go to the hospital. Do I need to live with strangers again?

6. The Past Interfering (Switzerland)

This ad is from Switzerland and reads,

  1. No intercourse without a condom.
  2. No sperm or blood in the mouth.

If the past's interfering with your relationship: check-your-livelife.ch Love life. Stop AIDS.

Another one from that same series has the same copy, but is targeting homosexuals.

7. Surprise! (Italy)

For Worldwide AIDS day, MTV did a promotion, saying "Surprise! AIDS still hits."

8. Cover Up - World AIDS Day (Buenos Aires)

The Obelisk of Buenos Aires is covered with a giant condom to commemorate World AIDS Day on December 1, 2005.
9. Protect Yourself (Switzerland)This "Don't Be Stupid. Protect Yourself." series of ad campaigns by Avico, Young & Rubicam focused on the use of கொண்டோம்

10. AIDS Does Not Concern You? (France)

For the Act Up Paris AIDS Awareness campaign, CLM BBD came up with this surprising ad.
